Innovations in technology which might provide insight into how we will play games in
the future

With the release of Battlefield 3, gamers can enter an entirely new world of video games
that is dynamic and engaging in new ways. Battlefield 3 can now be used as a first person
shooter simulator, in which players can jump, crouch, and hold and fire a gun. So say goodbye
to long hours seated in front of the screen. With these new advances, Battlefield 3 highlights
some of the ways we could play our favorite games in the future.

How Does It Work?

The simulator makes use of the Igloo Vision Dome, which creates an enclosure where you
can project an HD image on the round roof for 360 degrees of video above. Then, with an omni-
directional treadmill, players can run and move around without running into the walls. The
walls also have 10 infrared tracking cameras that keep players from hitting the walls.

Lighting also plays a role. As the events on screen change, the lighting will also change
based on what is happening in the game, making you feel like you have crossed over into game
itself.

Finally, the game notes when a player gets hit by a bullet by means of a red flash on-screen,
which is recorded and the player is “wounded.” It’s even possible to set up paintball guns along
the edge of the walls to fire at a player if he or she gets hit by a bullet from the game.

Without a doubt, the simulator for Battlefield 3 will make players feel like they are serving
in active combat. It pushes the limits of contemporary gaming from tweaking the controls on a
handheld controller to actual full-body movement. It is an all-encompassing experience and will
most likely define the course of video gaming in the coming years.

Other Innovations

Changes toward making video gaming more interactive don’t stop there. Stereoscopic
gaming is also on the rise, where special glasses help create depth on the screen so that players

can experience the games on multiple levels. Unlike simple 3D graphics, stereoscopic gaming
glasses help the graphics actually pop out of the screen for many different layers of color and
action. While the simulator described above may be well out of the average gamer’s budget
right now, stereoscopic glasses are much more affordable, and no doubt gaming developers will
be creating more stereoscopic games in the future.

With these innovations on the horizon, it is clear that video gaming will become more
interactive and allow a wide-range of new actions. Playing a game will no longer entail
hours on the couch or sitting in front of the computer waiting for the pc games download. In the future, you many
not even need a computer anymore. Instead, you’ll feel like you’ve entered a fantasy world
in which you battle monsters and wizards with your own two hands, as well as all the wit and
strategy you used in your previous video games.

and Michael Fassbender will star and co-produce, he will play a ” hooded heroes”  so it could be Ezio, Altair or maybe even Connor but most likely be Desmond in the Animus.

Michael Fassbender was our first choice, said Jean-Julien Baronnet, CEO of Paris-based Ubisoft Motion Pictures. Michael is an extremely smart, talented, versatile and committed actor.

He did a great job as Eric Lehnsherr Aka Magneto, so lets hope he plays a brilliant Assassin!

I think so I’m afraid as news arose of Sony buying Gaikai for $380M which deal with cloud gaming! most people assumed this news would be announced at E3 last month and if Sony buying Gaikai wasn’t enough news to assume we’re heading to a digital gaming age, EA have announced they will be going 100% Period! although EA say they won’t be dropping out of the retail game just yet! but in the near future it will defiantly be 100% digital with steaming and cloud storage!

I used to think it was the worst idea for gaming going digital, just because I enjoy owning a game, a disc and the box but for the time being I think it would be a great idea to have retail and digital approach. if people don’t have easy or regular access to retail to purchase a new game and have a good connection they can just download it and don’t have to wait a couple of days god forbid a week or longer. but honestly I’m not looking forward to the whole industry going digital purely cause I don’t have a very stable connection.

if you’re thinking of purchasing a XL 3DS and wondering what would happen to all your game saves? well Nintendo say there will be a system transfer utility to transfer your saves from your old 3DS and instead of a 2 GB SD Card Xl 3DS will now come with a 4GB SD Card. plus Nintendo says the battery life will be improved from the old 3DS and promises the life span will last longer with a single charge.

Majora’s Mask or Link to the Past Remake or squeal

ever since Ocarina of Time hit retailers last year fans have  been wondering whats next on Ninteno’s handheld Zelda game. during an interview with IGN,Shigeru Miyamoto hinted that it could go three ways from Major’s Mask,Link to the Past Remake or squeal.

if they do bring out either of these I will be first in line to purchase the game and a brand new 3DS!

if it looks anything like this then I’m all for it!
